Unprecedented

I am really glad that we watched this because it better helps me understand what had happen in the Gore v.s. Bush election.
They gave us some good background information about Florida and who was "allowed " to vote.
The movie said that they were trying to find ways to deny African Americans the right to vote. They put in the law that if you were a felon or an ex felon you did not have the right to vote, hoping to take a large percent of the black community. They also did things like match people who had similar names up with to people who had committed a felony.
Then the talked about the recount in Florida for the 2004 elections, and how it was very possible that there had been people tampering with the ballots. They also talked about how the new computer voting system, and how with a click of a button some ones vote can be changed.
I thought it was a very interesting movie and I am glad that we had got the chance to watch it.

Which debate?

Well since I did not really get a chance to see the last one I will say my opinion off of the first two.
I honestly can not pick between them because I feel like one lead to the other. I think that they talked about a large range of topics and all of which were very important.
I think I will do the rest of this assignment after I watch the final debate.

debate reaction

My reaction to the last debate was that even though it was suppose to be the american people asking the questions it was very played out, like everything was done for a reason.
the other debate felt realer to me then this one. And I must say that instead of being on the edge of my seat I was rather board.

Democratic Head quarters

Today we visited the Democrats of the Kennebunks campaign office. We were all sort of assigned questions to ask, my question was "How many people work in the headquarters?" she said that about 20 volunteers work there.
but she also said something very interesting on the war and what i got from it was her saying that if we sent all "the rich kids" to the war there would not be a war. I don't iknow if that is true or not but i thought it was good to get her opinion.
I really hope that next time we go there she talks less about herself and more about the organization.

tHe DeBaTeS, oBaMa VS mCcAiN

So I have only watched about an hour of the debates so far, but here is what i was suppose to be looking for, their appearance and body language.
So the appearance of both of the candidates were very appealing. They both had very well placed hair, lovely suits, and nice shirts. Although I liked Obama's tie much better because it did not distract me, it was a plane red tie, others might have said it was boring but McCain's tie made me unfocused because it very much resembled a spiraling hypnotizing design. haha maybe he was trying to hypnotize the American people?
The next thing I looked at was their body language, McCain seemed to move all most like a robot (I am not trying to make cracks about him but when he moved he used his shoulders) he stopped doing this robot dance when he got mad however. He used much more of his body (maybe cause he was putting more feeling into what he was saying?) Now Obama was much different, he was very sure of himself, he did not more to much or to little. I personally think that he handled himself well especially under all the pressure. Watching this debate makes me want Obama for president even more.
I think that is all i have to say cause I am going to take a shower

((yeah i know you wanted to know that haha))

Article of Sarah Palin "Should the vice president be a mom?"

1.) The first thing that we (as a class) were asked to do is to pick an article from a news paper and or magazine. I picked the mag "The Week."

2.) Posted in "The Week" was an article about Sarah Palin, wondering weather or not she should be V.P. with five kids one of which is a special-needs child, and a pregnant "unwed" teenage daughter.
Something that surprised me was that not only the liberals were asking this question, but the feminists were also wondering if she is a good candidate, because by what my understanding of what feminism is that a women can do any job a "man can", with or without being a mother.
Quoted from the same article Sally Quinn said that "You don't have to be a member of the old boys network to wonder which of Palin's two jobs she would be neglecting." She went on to say that "I had a special-needs child myself, and even as a working mother, he always had to be my first priority................. and lets face it, a mothers role is different from a fathers"
I personally see both sides, i think that if she wants to be V.P. that she knows what she is getting into. and i also see that it will be difficult to balance two jobs that both pretty much take over your whole life.
